Spray Tan Before an Event: When Should You Book?

You've got the outfit. Hair is booked. The group chat is organised.
But when exactly should you get your spray tan? ✨
Whether you're heading to a spring wedding, birthday, formal or special event, timing your tan properly can make all the difference.
The good news? It's pretty simple.
When should you get a spray tan before an event?
For most events, we recommend getting your spray tan before an event around 1–2 days beforehand.
This gives your colour time to fully develop, settle into the skin and look beautifully natural when it's time to get ready.
For a Saturday event, for example, Thursday or Friday will generally be your tanning sweet spot.
And if it's an important event, don't wait until that week to actually make the booking. Popular appointment times can fill quickly, particularly once wedding and formal season gets underway in Port Macquarie.
Weddings
Wedding coming up? Spring is when things start getting busy.
For brides, bridesmaids and wedding guests, we'd generally aim for 1–2 days before the wedding.
This gives you time to rinse, let your colour develop and get through the rest of your beauty appointments without trying to squeeze everything into one day.
If you're the bride, we'd also recommend considering a trial tan before the big day, particularly if you haven't been Bronzed before.
One less thing to think about during wedding week!
Formals
Formal season isn't far away either 👗
Once you've got the date, there's no harm in booking your tan early so you can secure the appointment time you want.
Your formal tan should complement your natural colouring, dress and overall look, rather than simply being as dark as possible.
We'll help you choose the right glow when we see you.
Birthdays, parties and special events
Birthday dinner? Girls' night? Work event? Photoshoot?
The same 1–2 day rule is a great starting point.
And because Bronzed is mobile, we come straight to you. That makes fitting your tan around work, hair, nails and everything else happening before an event much easier.
Don't forget the prep
Great timing won't save a badly prepped tan!
Exfoliate and shave around 24 hours before your appointment, then arrive with clean, dry skin free from moisturiser, deodorant, perfume and body oils.
Afterwards, follow your recommended rinse time and keep your skin moisturised to help your colour stay fresh and fade evenly.
