What to Wear to a Spray Tan: Before, During & After Your Appointment

You've booked your spray tan. Your skin is prepped. You're ready to glow.

Then comes the question we get all the time...

If you've ever wondered what to wear to a spray tan, you're definitely not alone. What you wear before, during and after your appointment can actually make a difference to your fresh tan.

The good news? You don't need anything fancy.

What to wear to a spray tan appointment

Before your appointment, think loose, dark and comfortable.

You want clothes that are easy to get on and off and aren't going to rub tightly against your skin afterwards.

Some of our favourites:

• An oversized dark T-shirt

• Loose track pants or pyjama pants

• A flowy dark dress

• An oversized button-up shirt

• Slides or loose-fitting shoes

Basically, if you'd happily wear it for a lazy night at home, you're probably on the right track.

And yes, this is one occasion where your activewear can stay in the cupboard.

What do you wear during your spray tan?

This one is completely up to your comfort level.

You can wear underwear, a G-string or whatever you feel most comfortable being tanned in.

Think about what you're wearing to your event too. If you've got a strapless or backless dress coming up, you may want to consider where any tan lines will sit.

What should you wear afterwards?

This is where your outfit really matters.

Your tan needs time to develop, so avoid anything tight that could rub against your skin or leave marks.

That means steering clear of:

Leggings. Tight bras. Jeans. Socks. Tight waistbands.

Instead, go back to that loose, dark and comfy rule.

And if rain is forecast in Port Macquarie? Cover up.

Fresh tan + surprise rain shower is not the combination we're looking for.

What about shoes?

Slides or loose thongs are your best friend after a spray tan.

Avoid tight sneakers, boots or anything that rubs around your feet and ankles while your tan is developing.

It's a tiny detail, but your ankles will thank you later.

A few things to avoid before getting dressed

Before your Bronzed appointment, arrive with clean, dry skin.

Skip moisturiser, deodorant, perfume and body oils beforehand, as these can interfere with how your tan develops.

Once you're sprayed, we'll talk you through your rinse time and aftercare so you know exactly what to do next.
