Aftercare Essentials: Make Your Spray Tan Last Longer

Updated: Jul 22

You’ve just had your mobile spray tan with Bronzed - you’re glowing, you’re feeling fabulous, and now you want that bronzed beauty to last as long as possible. Good news: with a few simple aftercare tips, you can keep that golden glow for days longer!

Here’s how:

1. First Shower Timing is Everything

After your tan, we’ll let you know exactly when to rinse off, depending on the solution used and the depth of colour you’re after. No sneaky rinses or swimming, even if it’s tempting on a hot Mid North Coast day!

  • When you do shower, no soup, keep it quick and cool - no long, hot steamy sessions.

2. Pat, Don't Rub

After showering, gently pat yourself dry with a towel rather than rubbing. Rough drying can strip away your developing tan, especially in the first 24 hours.

3. Moisturise Religiously

Hydrated skin holds onto a tan much longer! Start moisturising morning and night from Day 2 onwards. Choose a moisturiser that's oil-free and gentle as some oils can cause patchiness or make your tan fade faster.

Pro tip: Focus on areas that dry out faster like hands, feet, elbows, and knees.

4. Avoid Chlorine and Long Soaks

A dip in the ocean at Town Beach? Perfect. A long soak in a chlorinated pool? Not so great for your spray tan.

Chlorine and prolonged water exposure can cause your tan to break down faster. Stick to quick dips when you can.

5. Gentle is the Name of the Game

When washing, use a mild, soap-free body wash and avoid scrubs, loofahs, and anything too abrasive. You want your tan to fade naturally and evenly, not peel off in patches!

A little TLC goes a long way! #NoScrub At Bronzed, we want your Port Macquarie glow to last and look flawless. Follow these simple aftercare steps and you’ll enjoy bronzed, beautiful skin for longer.
